I had the opportunity to see Mom’s Night Out this past weekend. It was a funny movie with laugh out loud moments and I also cried… Yep that’s right, my eyes leaked during the scene with the character Bones sharing words of wisdom with Allyson. First of all the set-up for the scene itself was hilarious, but I will not spoil anything for those who have not seen the movie yet. Go see it already!
The movie delivers a message of hope and encouragement which resonates with me because that, my friend, is what I enjoy doing, spreading hope and encouraging others. I don’t know if you have ever heard the phrase God knows the beginning and the end… But since that is truth, He also must know everything that happens in the middle…the right now! That phrase is meant to encourage and reassure a person that God knows everything, He even knows how you are feeling right now or what you are experiencing.
God sees and God knows…
I believe that God does know and see all… which means the situation or circumstance you may find yourself in, is NOT a surprise to God. You may find yourself in a new role in life or just wanting to be in different role altogether. You may be a working mom, stay at home mom, a surrogate mom or wanting to be a mom and it has not happened yet. Sometimes we find ourselves in life doubting our capabilities in the role or the space we are currently in on our journey. We can begin comparing ourselves to others and coming up short. Or so we think…
And let us consider how we may spur one another on
toward love and good deeds… Hebrews 10:24
God has given each one of us a unique life…it may seem similar to someone else’s life but in actuality it is quite different. Why? Because it is your life, God uniquely created you and therefore your life is and will be one of a kind. No one will ever have your exact same story. That is why it is not fair to compare…in the sense of determining if you measure up or not. The message of hope is that you matter and that you are enough. God knows right where you are on your journey…in your race. He has placed people along the way to cheer you on to the end. It’s your choice… You can either ignore those cheering you on or allow those cheers to energize you and encourage you to keep moving forward.
