There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
Day 27 of the 28 Day Challenge
Rest: a state or period of refreshing freedom from exertion; freedom from mental or emotional anxiety; a stopping place for shelter and relaxation.
Looking back to my childhood, I did not have a care in the world. I had a loving family and plenty of neighborhood friends. Call me different, but I really enjoyed school. Summers were long and carefree. Life was good!
I believed in and trusted my parents. My expectation was that every day I would be taken care of and loved. I had no reason to have the slightest anxiety about anything.
Fast forward to today and I find it interesting that I sometimes have to work at not being anxious about a situation. The same way that I trusted and believed in my parents when I was a child is the same way that my heavenly Father expects me to trust and believe in Him. Father God wants us to rest in Him.
You and I have to make every effort to enter into the rest of God… that place of trust knowing that everything which concerns us will be taken care of… that place I remember from my childhood where life is good!
There is not anything that you are facing today that is too hard for God because with Him all things are possible!
