Psalm 37:5 (NLT)
Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.
Have you ever seen a child leap into the arms of a waiting parent? I am reminded of seeing children at the swimming pool for the first time. Some kid’s eyes open really wide as they gaze upon the enormity of the pool. I can imagine that inside they are thinking… wow this is big and there’s a lot of water in there… They may even feel a little anxious about getting in the pool. But wait there is dad or mom with arms outstretched saying just jump, I will catch you…
Do you have something that is burning on the inside? Do you have something that you are just longing to do? So what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for the stars and the moon to line up? Are you waiting until all the conditions seem perfect? Are you waiting until you think your plan is failure proof? Let me remind you that time is precious and time just keeps on ticking.
It is time for you to commit everything you do to God… your dreams… your plans… your desires… Trust your loving Heavenly Father and just jump. God wants you to trust Him in all that you do. The Lord will be your refuge, a fortress, your provision and your encouragement. He will be your place of safety. Be like the kid at the swimming pool that is planning to jump in for the first time as his father stands there with arms wide open ready to catch him. Just jump!
I am reminded of when Paul spent some time encouraging Timothy saying, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” Fear is meant to hold you back and keep you from living a life of fullness. Today, choose to be strong and courageous… choose to JUST JUMP!
