Day 25 of the 28 Day Challenge
Have you ever admired what someone else was doing and thought ‘I wish I could do that’. Now there is nothing wrong with admiring what someone else is doing. It’s even good to cheer someone on and encourage them to be the best. However, your thought and my thought should be that we want to be our individual best doing what God created us to do. In other words we want to be functioning and operating in our God-given place.
When a person joins the family of God, you may hear it referred to as being a part of the body of Christ. Now just as your physical body has many members or parts, so does the body of Christ. Each member of your physical body has a function. Your eyes function for sight and vision. Your ears function in the capacity of hearing and listening. Your feet provide stability and movement. Each body part has a specific function. Likewise each member of the body of Christ has a specific function.
But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them,
just as he wanted them to be. – 1 Corinthians 12:18
Each person in the body of Christ has a specific function and place. It is God who determines where we are placed; it is His choosing. You should be determined to know who God has created you to be and what He has created you to do. When you know who you are and what you were created to do, it makes life so much more enjoyable. Many times people compare themselves to others and fall into the trap of not being enough or not measuring up. Let me tell you a secret, you will never measure up to someone else because you were not created to be that person. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, you are God’s masterpiece.
Instead of trying to be like someone else, be determined to simply shine as the person God created you to be, where He has placed you! You were created for greatness!
Father God, I ask that You encourage the one reading this. Your son, Your daughter was created as a unique individual for a specific purpose. Reveal it. Encourage and strengthen them for the days ahead. In Jesus’ Name!
