Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Day 26 of the 28 Day Challenge
Seeing God’s goodness in the everyday… Today God reminded me it’s about movement NOT perfection…
As I meditated on that statement, I thought about an inspirational fitness leader who has developed a very successful fitness program. Many people have reached their weight loss goals using her program. I can hear her say, “Don’t you worry about doing the steps perfectly because it’s not about choreography. It’s about maintaining this pace, just keep moving.”
What God spoke to me really ministered to my heart because I am not perfect. I make mistakes and I do not get everything right all the time. But I cannot stop moving based on a misstep. I have to be consistent and keep moving forward. If needed, I can grab my trusted verse of 1 John 1:9. I confess my error, I receive my forgiveness and I just keep moving forward.
Time is too precious to waste wallowing in the would’ve, should’ve, could’ve… It’s time to move forward!
It is consistency that brings victory and to win in life I must maintain discipline… Discipline says keep going even when you don’t feel like it. Discipline continues on even when you can’t see spectacular results. Discipline makes a determination to forget the mistakes of the past and to press towards purpose…
Be encouraged knowing that God does not expect perfection but He does expect you to keep moving forward on the path that He has laid out for you. Do not allow mistakes to move you to the side of the road. Just keep moving forward!
