Understand your part

Ephesians 1:17-18
I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.

Wisdom:  the ability to make sensible decisions and judgments based on personal knowledge and experience; good sense shown in a way of thinking, judgment or action.

Revelation:  information that is newly disclosed, especially surprising or valuable; the revealing of something previously hidden or secret; a showing or revealing of what is believed to be divine will or truth.

Enlightened:  free of ignorance, prejudice or superstition; having a sound and open-minded understanding of the facts; having achieved the realization of a spiritual or religious understanding.

Dear Heavenly Father, today I echo Paul’s prayer for the church at Ephesus and all believers everywhere.  Give us wisdom and revelation knowledge of You.  We want our understanding to be enlightened, so that we may know the hope of Your calling.  Father, we want to do our part now to affect this generation…our city…our neighborhood…our friends…our families.  We want to run our race strong…learning from those that have come before and teaching those now that we are before.  We receive and heed to Your wisdom which brings us revelation and enlightenment.  In Jesus Name, Amen!
